30 Women, 30 Stories
An Athena Village Community Project30 women, 30 stories is a passion project conceived by Athena Village founder, Kelly Pratt. First launched in 2020, just as the pandemic shifted the ground beneath our feet, it is a celebration of how 30 different women got their groove back through story and the music that inspired them.
Why mojo? Why now?
Our 2021 theme: define, refine, reclaim, reboot your mojo!
We’re moving through a tumultuous time in history. And women have had to step up.
We have taken on the herculean task of adjusting and adapting to the various disruptions in our lives — suddenly life was at home — schooling. working, living, keeping ourselves and loved ones safe and healthy.
Women, particularly women of color, have been hit hard
“In April 2020, the pandemic caused fathers and mothers to leave the labor force at relatively high rates – 3.4 and 2.9 percentage point declines, respectively, relative to November 2019,” the authors noted. “However, their subsequent paths diverged sharply. While nearly all fathers returned to the labor force, mothers regained virtually none of their lost ground, remaining 2.8 percentage points below their November 2019 participation rate.” – Federal Reserve of Minneapolis
The impact for many women has been cataclysmic… In September, when the school year resumed, several hundred thousand women exited the world of work, seemingly forced out by an unsolvable dilemma. And while the January jobs report showed gains for women, it also revealed an additional 275,000 of them ceased employment or looking for work, according to the National Women’s Law Center. Women’s workforce participation rates are now what they were in the late 1980s. Decades of women’s progress at work and at home have been wiped out in a matter of months.

Amplify + Uplift
The 30|30 project is one way we can remind ourselves–and others–there is no one-size-fits-all path through life.
Connection and community are ways we all can move through this uncertain, historical time with compassion, kindness, empathy, fierceness and love.
We believe sharing our lived experiences, asking thoughtful questions and having meaningful, respectful conversation can help create a better world.
We are creating brave spaces to help women explore the matters which support who you ARE, which in turn buoys what you DO.
Our mission is to become a partnership and collaboration hub for women who naturally question the status quo, who are willing to experiment with new ways of thinking and doing business.
